Updated statistics from the National Marine Fisheries Service show that year after year, Maine's groundfish prices beat Massachusetts'.  Each year the Service tallies groundfish landed volumes and values in each state.  From 2000 - 2005, Maine fishermen received a premium of 1-5% over what they would have received in Massachusetts.

Unfortunately, Maine's price premium is not enough to offset the 10%-20% in additional revenue lobster landings can add to a groundfish trip.
